At Sunshine Hydro, we are proud that Telstra has announced we have won the 2024 Queensland Best of Business Awards for promoting Sustainability. Being recognised for Sustainability is an accolade that we deeply respect. Our mission has been and will always be to promote global sustainable principles anchored in our company's commitment to deep decarbonisation and biodiversity protection. At our heart, we are developing generational projects in the deep energy storage and green fuels space - projects which we call Superhybrids. Our flagship project Djandori gung-i (Spirit in the Water), a 600 MW pumped hydro and 350 Electrolysis project at Miriam Vale, 60 kilometres south of Gladstone, when operational will produce 300 MW of 24/7 of carbon-free energy and 60 tonnes of green hydrogen or 600 tonnes of green methanol per day. Our journey began in 2016 when the co-founders Chris Baker and Gerald Arends set out to solve what is one of the biggest challenges facing the clean energy transition: how to produce reliable, affordable, 24/7 carbon-free energy and green fuels. This journey has involved dozens of dedicated people and partners who have brought us to this happy position of being recognised for our sustainability credentials. Allow to me to acknowledge some of those folk who have helped us to this point and without whom this Award would not be possible. This Award is timely, because it comes when Sunshine Hydro is inviting the broader community to join us on our journey to sustainability. This opportunity is available to the public on the Birchal crowdfunding platform. https://lnkd.in/eT97WumM "always consider the general CSF risk warning and offer document before investing" Rick McElhinney, Chris Baker, Dan Raymond, D Tim Cummings, Queenie Lacanau, Tony Howes, Sasith Koralagoda, Simon Currie, Kevin Peakman, Dr Neil William Thompson, Donovan Burton, Matthew Lawson, David Wolfenden, Virpi Barrett, Robyn Emerson, Sorin Lupulescu, Liza Olod, Veronica White, Craig Townsend, Chris Evans, and our Indigenous partners, Tony Martens, Vincent Dwyer, Dr Kerry Blackman, and Ashley Martens, Steve Bond, Ajay Sharma, Simon Pollock, David Netherton, Sheila Charlesworth, Shaun Nugent, Michael Day, Steve Hoy, Grant McDowell, ATC Williams, RPS, Phronis Consulting, Pacific Law, Hatch, Allan O'Neil, WSP, Pablo Valverde, International Hydropower Association (IHA) #sustainablebusiness #pumpedhydro #biodiversity #greenhydrogen #cleanenergy #cleanenergytransition #24/7carbonfreeenergy #ldes #telstrabestofbusinessawards
