FY2025 was a more measured year across the market, but it produced a diverse top ten - cleantech, medicinal cannabis, spirits and mobility all featured, and two companies raised twice inside the year. These are the ten largest Birchal raises that closed in the 2025 financial year (1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025), by total raised.
1. Birchal — $1,972,029 from 982 investors. The platform led the year with a near-$2 million raise from its own community.
2. Medigrowth — $1,586,075 from 873 investors. The medicinal-cannabis company returned for another raise above $1.5 million.
3. Volt Solar Tile — $1,560,847 from 459 investors. The Australian solar-roof-tile cleantech - the 'taking on Tesla' story - drew strong conviction from 459 investors.
4. The People's Plant — $1,370,037 from 799 investors. The community-powered cannabis brand's larger raise of the year, at nearly $1.4 million.
5. Old Young's — $1,344,601 from 379 investors. The Swan Valley distillery returned for a second raise, the 'turned gin lovers into shareholders twice' chapter.
6. The People's Plant — $981,985 from 624 investors. A second raise inside the same financial year - a rare double - adding close to $1 million more.
7. Skyportz — $907,849 from 480 investors. The advanced-air-mobility venture, building vertiport infrastructure for the coming era of air taxis.
8. X-Hemp — $888,046 from 518 investors. The Tasmanian hemp company returned for a follow-on raise.
9. Cormagna — $713,460 from 23 investors. A striking outlier: $713,000 from just 23 investors - a wholesale-heavy round with very large average cheques.
10. Savic Motorcycles — $655,845 from 212 investors. The Australian electric-motorcycle maker rounded out a mobility-flavoured year.
