FY2022 was a record-setting year for the platform. A single raise broke $5 million, consumer brands and independent breweries dominated the leaderboard, and Birchal itself returned to the crowd. These are the ten largest Birchal raises that closed in the 2022 financial year (1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022), by total raised.

1. Zero Co — $4,999,989 from 3,229 investors. The refillable home-cleaning and personal-care brand ran to its $5 million cap and drew more than 3,200 investors - one of the largest community raises in the platform's history.

2. Montu — $3,499,922 from 1,589 investors. The medicinal-cannabis group returned for a larger second round, raising $3.5 million.

3. Birchal — $2,999,808 from 623 investors. Yes, us - the equity crowdfunding platform raised on its own platform, hitting a $3 million round.

4. Black Hops Brewing — $2,199,889 from 1,030 investors. The Gold Coast independent brewery led a strong year for craft beer on the platform.

5. Kester Black — $2,112,602 from 1,680 investors. The B Corp-certified beauty and nail-care brand converted a large, loyal community of nearly 1,700 investors.

6. Australian Honey Ventures — $1,979,938 from 777 investors. A honey-focused food-and-beverage producer just shy of the $2 million mark.

7. Drink West — $1,919,944 from 1,162 investors. The Western Australian beverage brand turned regional loyalty into a near-$2 million raise.

8. Medibis — $1,770,560 from 964 investors. Another medicinal-cannabis company to feature strongly in a year defined by the category.

9. Good Earth Dairy — $1,523,384 from 866 investors. The WA dairy producer returned for a second raise inside two financial years.

10. Bridge Road Brewers — $1,465,406 from 859 investors. The Beechworth brewery capped off a craft-beer-heavy top ten.

FY2022 showed the ceiling lifting: multiple raises above $2 million, a $5 million headline, and breweries proving that a tap-room community is a ready-made investor base.
