1. The Path to Growth & Potential Exit
With 7 years of traction under our belt, we have the building blocks of our business in place. Having focused on the three areas of Brand, Experience and Operations since Day 1, these now represent highly defensible moats against newer entrants to the market.
Our model has been tested against fires, floods, pandemics and recession. It's also been tested at scale, globally, on different time-zones and in different climatic regions successfully.
We're primed for our next stage of growth. And now, with our 200+ cabin contract in hand and cheaper cabins on their way, we're ready to rapidly scale, first to 300 cabins and then to 600, a plan that is both realistic and defensible and will take us towards exit - which with Marriott's acquisition of our US competitor, is now a clear path to all.
2. The Economics
Through our unique organisational model and a strategic focus on streamlining and automation since founding the business, our model has significant financial leverage.
In the last year revenue has grown 90% while costs have only increased 30%. With forecasts exceeding these figures this year.
We are EBITDA positive. A huge (!) milestone for any operating business, let alone one operating in such difficult market conditions. This significantly addresses risks associated with cash-burning businesses.
Our cabins will have a payback of a 18 months at baseline occupancy levels, with a GP of $40k per cabin per year. Allowing us access to cheap cost of capital in the future.
3: The Mission & Social Impact
Climate change is not going away, neither is the modern world's obsession with productivity at the cost of health and wellness. Unyoked's mission operates at the intersection of both of these societal issues, seeking to make a dual impact and offset their negative effects.
By helping more people value nature, and feel first-hand the benefits of time out in it, its possible we can change perspectives to value our environment and lead more people to take the steps needed to protect it for future generations.
At the same time, by helping landowners diversify incomes in a minimal footprint, sustainable, approach, we're able to limit more adverse activities and increase levels of biodiversity around the globe.
By doing both of these, we seek to also help people feel how powerful it is to be around nature more often, and to begin living more balanced lives filled with the outdoors. By helping them realise how powerful nature can be for their everyday, we hope to have a positive impact on their wellbeing and their lives.
