26,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests occur in Australia each year and just 10% survive. Low survival rates are caused by delays in recognising cardiac arrest and starting high quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation. For every 1 minute that CPR is delayed but required, a person's chance of surviving reduces by 10%.

We are raising funds to expand our current prototype, conduct our first in human trial and secure partnerships that will support our local and international market strategy, ensuring that Pulse Tile is placed alongside every automated external defibrillator (AED) everywhere. Pulse Tile is the first and only cardiac arrest detection device designed for all rescuers to start better CPR, sooner. When a cardiac arrest occurs, every second counts. Pulse Tile reduces "hands off chest" time from deployment and throughout resuscitation. It quickly and accurately identifies the presence or absence of a pulse, eliminating subjective breathing and pulse assessments. It guides all rescuers to make decisions about intervention and builds confidence by providing feedback on rate and depth of chest compressions.
